Parker Gentile, a Wayne Hills swimmer and amazing freshman student, recently broke the 200 IM record previously set by Rikki Berk in 2010. Just last week on December 6th, Parker Gentile swam her first individual high school race by swimming the 200 IM in 2:18:01.
After talking to Parker to hear how she did this, she said that she “did not go all out [her] first 50 and instead decided to keep pace.” This was something that “helped [her] achieve [her] goal, making [herself] have a good mindset into the race.”
Parker also explained some other goals she has in her swimming career that she wishes to complete, such as “breaking different kinds of records.”
With her amazing talent and great mindset, there is no doubt Parker will complete these goals and set all kinds of new records here at Wayne Hills. The Wayne Hills Swim Program is so proud of Parker and believes that she is truly an amazing asset to the team.
Hearing about Parker’s background in swimming really shows how dedicated she is to the sport. When asked how long she has been swimming, she answered saying that she has been “competitively swimming since [she] was 7 years old.”
Her many years of hard work truly show how dedicated Parker is to swimming and how much she loves doing what she is so good at. Wayne Hills swimmers are so lucky to have Parker on their team and are proud of her accomplishments so early in the season!
