Throughout the school day, the cafe in the lunch rooms called Jazzman’s sells a variety of drinks and food, including iced lattes. While coffee is not something that everybody enjoys due to its bitter taste, the cafeteria accommodates this by giving people the choice of caramel, white chocolate, or dark chocolate flavoring. Many people have said that even though they do not normally drink coffee, the flavors and sweetness gets them to do so as it tastes good and is enjoyable to drink.
They come in either large or medium cups, with the choice of adding whipped cream to the drink. A large iced latte is priced at $4.40 while a medium iced latte is priced at $4. These prices are more on the expensive side for coffee. However, they are more price-friendly than Starbucks with a grande (16 oz) iced latte being $4.95.
Some students make it a near daily tradition to purchase a latte, while others have never purchased any and do not plan on it any time soon. One student, freshman Taylor Johnson, frequently purchases iced lattes from the cafeteria. In the picture, she is seen with an almost-finished white chocolate iced latte, stating, “it is very delicious and I love buying it every day.”
There are a few reasons people may decide to purchase an iced latte, or not purchase one. Two of the reasons people buy them are that they taste good and keep them awake and focused for later classes. Two reasons people do not purchase the lattes are that they are expensive or they simply don’t like the taste of coffee. Ultimately, plenty of people like these lattes while plenty do not.
After surveying a few people, it seems that the majority of students do not purchase iced lattes from the cafeteria. It is typically the same people that are always buying them. While these drinks are not too popular, a good amount of people buy them nonetheless.
