Random Acts of Kindness Club Has Productive Year Planned
September 26, 2017
The Random Acts of Kindness Club, referred to as “RAK” by many of its members, has numerous plans for this year. The club has spread positivity around Wayne Hills for several years now, and the 2017-18 school year will be no different. Similar to last year, RAK will give out their signature hot chocolate and lemonade before school on random days later in the year. Several other events, such as Random Acts of Kindness week, are planned as well.
Andrew Poalillo is the club’s adviser, and the current co-presidents are juniors Jason Kobrin and Ji-Young Song. When asked about her plans and ideas for this school year, Song said that she plans on doing a “collaborative project with the photography classes, where we [the RAK club] put up an appreciation board on the bulletin board downstairs”. This project will pay tribute to deserving Hills faculty members, following the precedent set by the club last year with the memorable appreciation board for the janitorial staff, which was well received by students and faculty alike and is still up for all to see. The RAK club has yet to decide who will be featured on the board this year, but Song listed the lunch aides as a possibility.
The Random Acts of Kindness Club meets on Wednesdays and is always looking for new members. Anyone interested in spreading a bit of joy through the school should consider joining and can contact Poalillo, the aforementioned co-presidents, or a current RAK club member for more information.
