The varsity football squad for Wayne Hills overachieved last Friday night against Roxbury high school, posting a 35-14 final score. Jaaron Hayek posted four touchdowns against Roxbury, and Michael Joyce had one as well.

Jason Modak, on defense, is coming off six sacks in 2017 alone, and should definitely be a difficult handle for all teams for the rest of the season. He had 9 tackles and forced two fumbles against Canton-McKinley, one of the most talented teams in the country. Michael Joyce, an extreme talent, has subbed in for Jojo Mongelli as the starting running back this season after Mongelli went down with an injury. He  had three touchdowns the next game against Ramapo.

Jack Woodard, sophomore, said the team is prepping to face Old Tappan on Saturday night. ¨I believe this will be a competitive game and I think we just need to play smart and hard. I believe we can come out with a win.”

The underclassmen at key positions are looking to make a strong impact on and off the field this year.

The team is looking for a victory at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday at Old Tappan.
