WHHS Athletes Sign With Colleges

Signing day is the most exciting day of the year for high school athletes who are making their dreams become a reality. It all becomes real by signing the letter of intent with their family standing behind them, decked out in their college gear. For the class of 2017 there were 24 students who signed with their college.

    The students include, (Football) Hunter Hayek – Rutgers University, Tyler Hayek – Rutgers University, Brendan DeVera – Rutgers University, Luca Grave – Moravian College, Evidence Njoku – University of Miami. (Soccer) Olivia Prusakowski – Montclair State University, Johnna Caporuscio – Assumption College, Brianna Caporuscio – Susquehanna University, Cami Santers – Rider University, Siobhan O’Sullivan – Moravian College, Jack Samieske – Hamilton College. (Field Hockey) Rachel Vellis – LIU Post, Amanda Laguardia – The College of New Jersey. (Cross Country) Taylor Domico – Rochester Institute of Technology, Emily Becker – Lafayette College. (Lacrosse) Tyler Costello – Kean University, Lexi Patania – Philadelphia University. (Wrestling)  Anthony Rua – The College of New Jersey. (Baseball) John Barone – Seton Hall University. (Fencing) Lauren Park – Wellesley College, Dawson Sieradsky- Columbia University. (Golf) Robert Sabatino – Drew University.

    The student athletes in the room gave off good vibes as they took on the next chapter of their athletic career. Wide Receiver standout Hunter Hayek, who will be playing D1 football next year, stated that he is looking forward to playing at an intense level. It was a big relief, Cami Santers will be playing D1 soccer at Rider University this fall and is looking forward to the new experience. “I am looking forward to meeting all my new teammates, especially those from out of the country and learning a new style of play.”
