The Wayne Hills Ice Hockey team is looking forward to the season, as games start in less than a month.

The team has worked hard this off season with off-ice practices, led by Head Coach Angelo Serse, Captain Dan Mirman, who led the team in assists last year, and Assistant Captain Dean Hulbert, who led the team in goals last year.  The team is looking to improve from their disappointing season last year.  They had a record of 7-10-5 and want to have at least a .500 record this year and make it into states.

“As long as the necessary work is put in, the team has the potential to be very successful,” said Mirman, a senior.

The team is shorthanded this year, compared to the last few years.  This year, there are only 18 team members while last year, there were 25.  Key losses include the two senior goalies from last year, which is going to provide Hills with a true challenge for this year’s season.

“This year will be a big test for us to see if we can handle adversity,” said Hulbert, a junior.

The team is ready to hit the ice, beginning practice on Tuesday, November 8.  Come support the hockey team as they will be playing their first game against Mahwah on Saturday, November 26 at the Ice Vault.
