This is old news so start with what Samsung has done since the recall (new phone, I’m assuming) and then mention older news like the date of the recall lower in the story.

Samsung has officially announced the expanded recall of all Galaxy Note 7 smartphones sold or exchanged in the United States in cooperation with the U.S. on October 23rd. There have been multiple reports of these phones overheating and their batteries exploding, setting the phones on fire. Samsung has already made a replacement phone in response to the first dangerous encounter people had been experiencing with the original Galaxy Note 7. After numerous recalls, attempts and changes made to the phone, the company still can not seem to fix the problem or even know what the problem is.

“Since the affected devices can overheat and pose a safety risk, we are asking consumers with a Galaxy Note 7 to power it down and contact the carrier or retail outlet where they purchased their device,” said one Samsung representative. Customers are given the option to exchange their phones (whether it is the original or the replacement) for another Samsung smartphone or to completely receive a refund.

After a huge loss in business and sales, a whopping five billion dollars, Samsung is now focusing on their new phone, the S8.  Lee Jae-yong, vice chairman and board member at Samsung, told the Wall Street Journal that next year’s Galaxy S8 will come with a “slick design and an improved camera.” It’ll also have better artificial intelligence, Lee said.  Samsung’s goal with this new phone is to prove that the company can rise back up after failing.”I’m excited to see what this new phone has to offer, I think it will really bring Samsung back into business, bring the customers back and hopefully some new ones,” said senior Arden Sokoli. Although it is unclear whether the large amounts of negative press will have a long term effect on the sales of the company, Samsung is doing all they can in their power to quickly revive themselves and make up for the loss of customers, business, and money.
