100 bikers escort bullied kid to his first day of school
November 3, 2016
A group of more than 16 motorcycle riders escorted Sean Maehrer to his first day of school at Salisbury High School, in Salisbury township. 16 year old Maehrer has down syndrome and has been bullied at his school for many years in the past. After his mother posted on Facebook about her worries of her son going back to school and being taunted, a local motorcycle club took the time to pick up the teen at his house and show their support.
Sean rode on the back of one of the bikes, and showed up to school ready to face his first day. Once he arrived at school, he was greeted by another big group of bikers. In total, there were 100 people from the motorcycle club who helped Sean conquer is first day of school.
“I can’t believe how nice it was that 100 bikers took the time out of their day to escort a kid into school. This makes the world seem good,” said junior Monica Borsella. Borsella is not the only one to have been affected by this extreme act of kindness.
“I am humbled by the kindness that this group of people has shown. It was so refreshing to hear such a great and upbeat story with everything that is going on in the world today” Rosalie Vallerio said.
All it took was a group of motorcycle riders, and a kind act to make Sean Maehrer’s first day of school one to remember.
