Bright Start for Wayne Hills Boys Soccer

By Eddie Brim

After starting off 3-0 without giving up a goal the WHHS boys varsity soccer team gives up its first and only goal against rival school Wayne Valley, which gives the WHHS team its first loss. It is still a good start for the Patriots, who could have another big season. In their first six games they combine for a total of 19 goals and hadn’t been scored on until yesterday. ”As a team, we are looking to win our league and county. On paper, after losing 10 seniors, we are not projected to do so. We have a great group of kids that all get along and a great coach who knows what it takes to be great,” said Junior, and two-year varsity player, Jake Samieski. These are very big goals, however these players have what it takes to be a successful team, yet again this season.
Losing 10 seniors, and goal tender, Grant Kelly, can do a lot to a team’s chemistry, and as that happens it makes it much harder to be a winning team. “This years team is a very new one. There are only a few of us that were on varsity last year, but the kids that are new bring a lot to the table. The chemistry on our team is incredible compared to years past and it’s a big reason why we haven’t lost a regular season game so far,” said Samieski before yesterdays game against Valley. I found this very interesting to hear as losing most of a varsity team would usually reduce team chemistry, this team could accomplish some amazing tasks this season, I’m looking forward to the remainder of the season and the WHHS boys varsity soccer team could be on it’s way to greatness.640x422-1.jpeg.058cf1365f05450b8acc0ab89efa60f0.large
