Marijuana Bundle Drops from Sky
October 14, 2015
On the morning of September 8th, Maya and Bill Donnelly woke up to a thunder-like noise but dismissed it as a typical monsoon. Later that morning, they found a bulky bundle wrapped in black plastic on their porch in Nogales, Arizona. The bundle contained 26 pounds of marijuana worth $10,000 which might have dropped by a drug smuggler’s aircraft. The package made a hole through the carport and landed on the dog’s house. The damage is worth $500 with a replacement for the d og house. Since their home is near the U.S.- Mexico border, police have boosted control in the Donnellys’ area just in case someone wants to retrieve the bundle.
“This just shows how extremely dangerous the drug cartel is in Mexico,” said freshman Galo Guerra.
The police have also seized control of the drugs and are holding them at the Arizona police station. So far there are no lead as to who dropped the drugs and no arrests have been made.
