NBA Playoffs Winding Down
May 23, 2016
The NBA Playoffs are without a doubt a very exciting time in sports. Thousands and thousands of fans come out to support their team in hopes of reaching a championship. Currently, there are only four teams left in the Playoffs. Both sections of the bracket are winding down their Conference Final series.
Competing for the Western Conference Final are the Golden State Warriors and the Oklahoma City Thunder. The two teams are led by extremely talented point guards who can just about do it all. These players such as Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Steph Curry and Klay Thompson can become dangerous down the homestretch. The series is currently 2-1 with the Thunder ahead by one game.
Battling over on the other side for the Eastern Conference Final are the Cleveland cavaliers and the Toronto Raptors. Led by NBA superstar LeBron James, the Cavaliers are the favorite to win. The Cavaliers are currently on top leading the series 2-1.
The next round of the tournament is the NBA Finals, which will be held on Thursday, June 2. Predictions say the two teams that will find their way into the Finals will be the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors.
But as the hype continues to surround LeBron and his postseason dynasty, the Warriors, on the other hand, are a very hardworking and successful team. Led by 2x NBA MVP in back to back seasons, point guard Curry is the closest thing to reaching LeBron’s social status in the world of sports. “The way Curry carries himself on the court really opens up a lot of eyes. He may not be the biggest player out there, but he’s relentless enough where he’ll outwork anyone that dares to cross paths with him,” mentioned senior Jason Cote.
Curry currently leads the NBA in a whole variety of categories. Breaking tons and tons of records along the way this season, it’s been said Curry has reinvented basketball. The things he’s done on and off the court are things people haven’t seen since back when Jordan was playing. Curry is averaging 30 points per game. Whereas LeBron is just behind him averaging around 27 points per game.
