Wayne Hills Boys Tennis Team
May 18, 2016
The boys tennis team has recently made some significant wins lately but due to the unusual weather, several matches have either been cancelled or postponed. Hopefully, the weather will improve later on in the month as the tennis team plays. As a result, this year the tennis season will run longer than normal.
After winning the Passaic County Championship, the tennis team is onto states. Defeating Passaic Valley in the first round and Indian Hills in the second round, 3rd seeded Wayne Hills is now set in a match against 2nd seeded Montville on Thursday, May 19 in the NJSIAA North 1, Group 3 sectionals.
At first singles, Jake Goldberg represents the tennis team. At second singles, Michael Reiser represents the tennis team. At third singles, Sam Reyzelman represents the tennis team. At first doubles, Mark Schneyderman and Jason Reiser represent the tennis team. At second doubles, juniors Ethan Gershgorin and Arjun Gurumurugan represent the tennis team.
Jake Goldberg says, “Our team has done very well and winning the first two rounds of states has really boosted our confidence as a team. We hope to be successful against our next opponents on Thursday so we can continue to advance.” Good luck to all the boys competing!
