April, an Epic Month in Sports

By Jake Samieske

After an epic month of March in which arguably the greatest Men’s NCAA basketball championship  game went down, sports fans everywhere are wondering, What’s good in April?

April, however, should be a month of excitement for sports fans, not a March hangover.

What to Watch:

  • The Masters- the field is as open as ever in golf, and I wouldn’t be shocked if an outsider took home the Green Jacket this year.
  • Kobe Bryant’s Last Game- As the twenty year career of Basketball Legend Kobe Bryant finally winds down, all we can do is sit and enjoy the little time we have left watching him perform his magic
  • UEFA Champions League– Quarterfinals and Semi-finals are set to go down in April, with giants Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint Germain all in play
  • English Premier League- Can Leicester City break away from the rest of the pack and solidify their place as League Champions and the greatest cinderella-story in soccer history?
  • Golden State Warriors- Can they reach the 73-9 record that would make them the greatest regular season basketball team in NBA history?
  • NBA Playoffs– Entertaining as always. Can the Warriors repeat? Will Lebron finally bring a championship back to Cleveland?
  • NHL Playoffs- Incredibly Intense, enticingly unpredictable, who will come out on top this year?
  • MLB– Baseball is back! Are the Chicago Cubs ready to win a championship after more than a century of dismay?

So, Sports fans, is April that bad after all?
