Spurs win showdown with the Warriors
March 25, 2016
In the game between the two western conference front-runners, the San Antonio Spurs showed just how much they wanted to win against the Golden State Warriors as they played quite a tenacious game. The Spurs ultimately took home the victory, improving to an impressive 59 wins. The atmosphere of the AT&T Center was electric with energy and screaming fans.
The Spurs’ 87-79 victory proved that, as a team, they can beat the Warriors, which was doubted after the Warriors blew out the Spurs back in January. The Spurs’ bruising defense was able to bottle up the reigning MVP Steph Curry who only ended up having fourteen points in the game. Curry surprisingly shot only one for twelve from the three point line. This game helped the Spurs tie up the season series 1-1 as the Warriors suffered their lowest scoring game of the season. The next match-up between the Spurs and Warriors is scheduled for April 7th, 2016.
“The game was so intense, I was on the edge of my seat, but the Warriors were without important players like center Andrew Bogut and Andre Iguodala. It would’ve been a whole different story if these players weren’t out” said sophomore, Justin Wills.
