WHHS Students Work Now On Display at Greenberry’s Cafe
March 15, 2016
It’s been a very exciting year for the Photography Classes at WHHS. From the success of Photo Club to getting approved for continuation classes of Photography III, this year is truly one for the books.
Over the past week, a new exhibit of the photography students’ work has been put on display at Greenberry’s Coffee Company, which is located across the street from WHHS in the Corrado’s Shopping Center. The exhibits will change themes every month to showcase students’ amazing talent. This month, 30 images with the theme of reflections are hung up throughout the Greenberry’s Cafe.
“I think that Greenberry’s and WHHS benefit because not only do students get to display their work, but it’s an attention grabber for future customers and it makes us stand out from your normal, average cafe,” said Brittany Miller, a sophomore whose family owns Greenberry’s.
Upcoming themes for the exhibit are planned to be changed monthly and include things such as seasonal events and “WHHS,” which will showcase the undying spirit and enthusiasm of the school’s community. To help get the exhibit on display, Unique Photo generously donated 30 professional prints, while Greenberry’s contributed their space and display materials. “I’m excited to continue with Photography III next year and have a chance to get my photos on display for the public to see,” says Siena Petrie, a junior.
The photography students are extremely excited for the opportunity to get their work displayed in public and possibly get their names out there. “It is amazing to see my picture on display,” says Lindsey Mahler, a sophomore, “it shows me that my hard work and love for photography has not gone unnoticed.” This collaboration between the WHHS Photography Classes and Greenberry’s Cafe really showcases how the community works together to display the incredible talent of local students.
