In the Chinese city of Xi’an, a woman’s body was found on a lift just one month after the lift was shut down. The 43 year-old’s woman’s body was found on March 1st, when they prepared the reopen the lift one month after the lift was powered off. Officials are now investigating the incident. The lift’s power was shut off because of a fault, however the two men that had shut off the lift did not check to see if anyone was still in it. The death of this woman is being treated as an involuntary manslaughter, and many people are being arrested for the lack of effort to check and see if anyone was still in the lift. “I can’t believe that the workers did not check. If only they reopened sooner, than they could have been a chance of the woman surviving,” said Freshman Alexandra Wisely.
