Computer Club is Created
March 17, 2016
An all new club has been formed at Wayne Hills: the computer club! The computer club meets every Wednesday and members get to work on projects that involve coding and learning more about the Java language. One does not even have to be enrolled in a computer class to join this club.
Madison Miatke, a junior, was appointed president by the advisor of the club, Mr. Ascione. Mr. Ascione teaches most of the computer programming and web design classes. Madison is very enthusiastic about computers and can’t wait to have fun this year.
“From what I’ve seen, a lot of jobs are being replaced with new technology and I want to be the person behind the computer. I like being able to solve problems with coding. Computer club is just a place to express our love for computers and computer science. We work together to make programs and prepare ourselves for a future interacting with computers.”
Currently, the computer club consists of about a dozen people and is split into groups to compete in an effort to make the best version of a program. Our society is already dominated by computers and electronics so don’t miss out for an opportunity to have fun!
