The 58th Annual Grammys Highlights
February 19, 2016
It’s that time of the year again when talented artists are awarded for their musical abilities. This year, many talented artists were nominated for all different types of awards. The artists went on stage to perform their greatest hits and to give the audience something to remember.
This past Monday, February 15 was the 58th annual Grammys. This year’s show opener was Taylor Swift as she performed on of her smash hits Out of the Woods. During the three hours of the Grammys, various artists performed their hits and some played tributes to legendary artists. Although Rihanna had to cancel her performance last minute, there was a total of 19 performances. Performances included Adele, Tori Kelly, James Bay, The Weekend, Lady Gaga, and Kendrick Lamar. Around 100 awards were handed out to artists such as Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Little Big Town, Kendrick Lamar, Meghan Trainor, and many more.
“This year’s Grammy’s was so unbelievably filled with talent and I loved it!” said senior Giovanna Minervini.
One of the biggest highlights was when Taylor Swift won album of the year and she made a pointed response to Kanye West who had mentioned swift in one of his new songs. We cannot wait for next years and what kind of music is to come.
