After three years of coming up short at the annual Spirit Rally, the Senior Class of 2025 is determined to take home a first place win for their last hurrah.
At the end of Spirit Week each year, the classes are ranked based on the amount of points they earned throughout the week. These points can be accumulated by dressing up according to the themes each day, donating canned goods and gift cards, participating in Penny Wars, and more.
Since their freshman year, the Class of 2025 has earned the fewest total points every Spirit Week. Whether it was from a lack of spirit or scarce donations, they never seemed to triumph over the other classes. But, now that they only have one more Spirit Rally left, they’re in it together to make this one count.
The Senior Class Student Council members have been working tirelessly to ensure that they’re keeping up with, if not ahead, of the other classes. They made sure to complete their big poster for the Rally early on, allotting enough time to focus on making the small posters as entertaining and detailed as possible. The President of the Senior Class, Addison Diehl, is confident about the progress she and her classmates have been making: “from learning from our mistakes, we have perfected how to conquer and finish all of the posters on time.”
Student Council members also began promoting the fundraising aspect of Spirit Week early on, asking their classmates to donate money for canned goods and gift cards. Incorporating community outreach might also help the Senior Class accumulate fundraising points, as the Student Council members are asking their coaches, tutors, local businesses, and other organizations to donate funds. Continuing their efforts, the Class of 2025 has already accumulated more donations than they have in years past.
As Spirit Week approaches, the Senior Student Council members continue to encourage fundraising and enhance the spirit of their classmates. They have high hopes for this year’s placements at the Spirit Rally, and are keeping their fingers crossed as they fight harder for the win than ever before.
