A new school year begins; with it, students hold their memories of summer with them. Some had the advantage of traveling, while others relaxed at home with family and friends.
Junior Esen Edeer stated, “My trip was about two months long. I was in Greece for a week but stayed in Turkey most of the time. I visited my family and went on a cruise.” Many students here at Wayne Hills High School have family in other countries; summer is a great time to see them.
Senior Gabriella Scatturo said, “ went to Italy for 3 weeks. I went sightseeing and I also went to a wedding for someone in my family”
Some people had other things in mind. Some wanted to try out for sports, like volleyball. Cortnie Smalls, who is a freshman, says, “I went to South Carolina to visit my grandparents. I was also practicing a lot for volleyball tryouts.” Cortnie made the team, but besides volleyball, she was also “shopping and hanging out with my friends.”
Even teachers got up to things during the summer. Gym teacher Mr. Porta said, “I built a pond in Andys New York this summer with my family.” He did a lot of hard work along with many other students who had summer jobs.
Other students just went on fun trips, like sophomore Sophia Vargas, “I did some snorkeling, swam with sharks, and went to Animal Kingdom! I was mostly just hanging around Florida.” Junior Gavin Sexton said, “I went down the shore for a week and spent time on the beach.”
Now that summer has ended students in school think back to the memories they made in these last couple of months.
