The Wayne Hills High School boys and girls fencing team has dominated this past winter season. Both teams showcased outstanding talent and performance on the strip.
The girls team concluded their season with an impressive record with a total score of 10-2. Their determination and hard work has been beyond evident every time they step on the strip. They demonstrate their commitment to fencing and teamwork.
Meanwhile, the boys’ team is making waves as they continue their journey towards the state championships. With an exceptional record of 13-1, they are proving to be a force to be reckoned with. They are gearing up for their upcoming match against the Chatham Cougars on February 27th, where they will undoubtedly bring their A-game to the strip.
Both the boys and girls teams walked home on January 27th, winning the Passaic County Tournament, another milestone for the Wayne Hills fencing teams.
Both teams have showcased incredible dedication and perseverance throughout the season with Coach Caamano and Coach Maxwell leading the teams to success and triumph.
Sarah Adawi, a Épée fencer on the girls team says that she “enjoyed fencing and becoming friends with all these really great fencers.” She also notes that “it was incredible to see them all grow not only as fencers but as good people.”
