Republican Presidential Candidate Donald Trump decided last week not to participate in the seventh GOP debate due to Megyn Kelly, one of Fox News’ moderators, because he claimed that Kelly doesn’t treat him fairly. Many people are having mixed feelings about Trump skipping the debate. Most people argue that as President he would not be skipping a debate.  There will also be people not unlike Kelly who might challenge him on a daily basis. 

Another argument is that he is helping himself by not going to the debate. The debates are always extremely important, yet these are ways to get votes,  and Trump missed out on another chance to prove to America that he should be the future president.

“Trump was smart because he’s saving himself from embarrassment,” said Senior Maddie Shear.  “Due to Megyn always picking on Trump, it was better for him to miss this debate,” she added.

“I don’t think Trump was smart for skipping the debate,” countered Heather Clapp, also a senior.  “As a presidential candidate,  Trump should not be skipping any debate. He should be able to face anyone as a candidate. It looks bad on his part and makes him seem immature” Clapp said.
