Super Bowl 50
February 4, 2016
After a long season that began on Thursday, September 10th, the game we have all been waiting for is finally here. Super Bowl 50, will air on CBS on February 7th, at 6:30 where the Denver Broncos take on the Carolina Panthers. After a hard fought season, Wayne Hills High School graduate Greg Olsen and his Carolina Panthers will face off against Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos.
The Carolina Panthers finished the regular season with a 15-1 record, even after the injury to their star wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin before the season started. Their only loss was week 16 to the Atlanta Falcons. In their journey to the Super Bowl, they beat the Seattle Seahawks 31-24 in the Divisional Round after leading 31-0 at halftime. Their defense barely held off the comeback made by Russel Wilson and the Seahawks, who had made the Super Bowl the previous two years. In the Conference Championship, the Panthers had the Cardinals beat in every way possible, winning by a final score of 49-15. The Panthers defense forced 4 interceptions and 2 fumbles. This will be the second Super Bowl appearance for the Carolina Panthers, who lost to the Patriots in Super Bowl 38.
On the other hand, the Denver Broncos are AFC Champions after beating the New England Patriots 20-18. In a very defensive game, the Patriots scored a touchdown in the final seconds but failed the two point conversion to tie the game. Peyton Manning now has the chance to win his second Super Bowl Championship in what a lot of people think will be his last season before he retires. Peyton has also played in 2 other Super Bowls in 2010 with the Colts and 2014 with the Broncos, but his team has lost both of those games. With his injuries this year, the Denver defense needed to step up and they did, leading the league in least total yards allowed per game. They were top ten in takeaways and least points allowed. If Peyton wants to win his second Super Bowl, he is going to have to rely on his defense.
Now, the week we have all been waiting for is here. Super Bowl 50 in San Francisco, California will go down in history and be remembered forever. I think the Panthers will come out on top by a final score of 41-19. Who do you think is going to win, leave your thoughts in the comments below.

Since the Super Bowl is now officially over, with the Denver Broncos coming out Super Bowl 50 champions with a 24-10 victory over the Carolina Panthers and Von Miller becoming the MVP, most people´s predictions were wrong. The Denver Broncos were the underdog going into the game, but the thing to look at was the huge upset from the Carolina Panthers. This lose only handed them their second lose all season but was one of the biggest losses in franchise history, only behind the Super Bowl 38 loss to the New England Patriots by a score of 32-29.
The Carolina Panthers had everything going for them, but when it came down to crunch time they could not keep up with the number 1 defence in the league in the Denver Broncos.
