Donald Trump Hinting at Running for President 2024
March 11, 2022
The next presidential election is years ahead but many people have their sights set on being next in line to run for president. One of those few is Donald Trump, the 45th president of the United States of America.
Donald Trump’s most recent speech to his supporters gave the strongest indication yet that he will run for president in 2024.
¨We did it once, and we´ll do it again¨, Trump told a crowd at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Orlando. He then falsely claimed again during this speech that he won the 2020 election, saying, ¨We´re going to be doing it again a third time.¨
While it may just be a bluff, many supporters of his saw this as a sign of hope for their country, as they blame things such as gas prices or taxes on Joe Biden (which is completely false, the increase in gas prices is due to the pandemic and its disruptions to global supply and demand).
During his speech, Trump brought his take on the war between Russia and Ukraine. He faulted the Russian invasion on Ukraine without denigrating Putin directly, saying it´s, ¨appalling and it’s an outrage and an atrocity that should never have been allowed to occur.¨ Trump then mocked President Biden and NATO allies for punishing Russia with sanctions, saying Putin was ¨playing Biden like a drum.¨ He then proceeded saying that this would have never happened if the election wasn’t ¨rigged.¨
Word of Trump’s third run was everywhere at CPAC, with people supporting ¨Trump 2024¨ hats, flags, and apparel at vendors. Before Trump took the stage, people were urging him to run as well as predicting victory against the Democrats.
¨While it can just be a bluff, Trump being president again can be groundbreaking even considering the fact that a lot of people still support him¨, says junior John Sees.
Former Vice President, Mike Pence, had separated himself from any relationship with Trump. Even saying that most of his claims about the last election were simply “wrong.” This can lead to an interesting conflict in the near future for politics, with Pence saying that he ¨might participate¨ in the following election and going solo.
As of right now, the public’s interest and outrage for better leadership is sourced from the war in Ukraine as well as the increase in gas prices. This current ¨unstable¨ look for America is what´s leading people in desire for a new president or just an overall change.
