NHS fundraises for homeless veterans!
January 12, 2016
NHS is having their second annual fundraiser for the homeless veterans! Last year this event took place on the WHHS football field, where the NHS students each have to purchase a box and sleep in it. Throughout the night, everyone hangs out, while also helping the cause. By sleeping in the box and fundraising, NHS is helping to collect money for\ homeless veterans. Last spring, many of the NHS students, along with teachers, a couple veterans and even the mayor, participated in the event. This year, the NHS students are figuring out more ways to raise even more money. “It really opened my eyes to the daily struggles some people have. Sleeping in a box for one night in the rain was crazy, I cannot imagine doing that every night and that is something many people must do just to have some sort of shelter” said senior Chris D’Aloia.
