Thanksgiving recently took place on November 25.

Traditional Thanksgiving foods include turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, and corn.

Wayne Hills Senior Edis Veliu said, “I enjoyed Thanksgiving this year. I ate a lot of turkey with my family and thought about what I was thankful for. Thanksgiving helps me realize how lucky I am.”

By far the most popular food on Thanksgiving is turkey. According to the National Turkey Federation, 88% of Americans say they will be consuming Thanksgiving turkey.

Wayne Hills teacher Mr. Bosma conveyed his thoughts on his Thanksgiving experience.

¨It was great being able to have Thanksgiving with the family for the first time in two years due to the pandemic. It made me thankful – you don’t realize how much you miss something until you’re deprived of it”.

Due to the pandemic, many families could not see each other. This year brought happiness back to families as they spent quality time

Wayne Hills Senior Daniel Turcan also shared his Thanksgiving experience. He said, “I went over to my uncle’s house. My family and I ate a lot of good food together and had a great time. I love Thanksgiving because it makes me more appreciative.”

A student from Wayne Hills shares their experience on Thanksgiving.

“It was fun, it felt normal again after last year it was bad. It felt good seeing my family” stated Emma Arango, a junior at Wayne Hills.

Generally, Thanksgiving is an extremely important holiday for many reasons.

Every so often we forget how lucky we are. Thanksgiving helps us recall what we possess and allows us to express gratitude and be appreciative.
