With a $2oo million budget and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, the Netflix film Red Notice stars heartthrob and friend to all Ryan Reynolds and Wonder Woman’s Gal Gadot. That’s a lot going for one movie, but the question remains–does it work?

Yes.

As one of the biggest movies that Netflix has produced does it live up to its budget? An action-packed comedy starring Ryan Reynolds, Dwayne Johnson, and Gal Gadot is the perfect thing to watch the next time you are Netflix surfing. This movie has lots of twists and turns with a surprise ending that many will never see coming. 

Dwayne Johnson stars as FBI profiler John Hartley pursues the world’s most wanted art thief (Ryan Reynolds) who recently becomes his partner in crime to catch an elusive crook (Gadot) who is always one step ahead. 

The movie was something I could watch over and over again without getting bored. Gal Gadot was not as prevalent as I would have hoped but she proves to be an important and crucial part of the movie who you grow to love… even if she is the villain.

Matt Anevski, a sophomore said, “ Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds is a pair I would never have put together but they are both hilarious. The movie is really very good and I never saw the ending coming.” 

Watching this movie was like watching a thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat. You never know what will happen next. Red Notice has something for everyone. If you want a movie you can laugh too, this is it. If you are looking for action there are multiple fight scenes and even a shoot-out. Even if you are looking for a movie you don’t have to pay too much attention to, this is for you.

While the movie is a bit cheesy at times it is laugh-out-loud funny, with a star-studded cast and it may just be one of the best movies of 2021.
