Paris Hilton Gets Married!
November 30, 2021
Paris Hilton, a well known fashion icon and entrepreneur, got married to venture capitalist Carter Reum in Bel Air.
Paris Hilton is best known for her appearance on the T.V show, The Simple Life, along side Nicole Richie. This reality T.V show followed the lives of two socialite and party girls as they ditch their life of money and diamonds for farms and overalls. Hilton and Richie moved in with a farm family for five weeks to see what life is like on a farm.
Having two parents who were in the spotlight and apart of the Hilton Hotel chains, she lived a very wild life. Her parents were very strict with her growing up and she enjoyed going against them. Partying and sneaking out were some of her favorite things to do to disobey them. No matter what the punishment was, she always found a way to go out and party.
Hiltons parents were fed up with her decisions and decided to send her away to help her focus on her state of mind. Although her parents thought she would come out better from going to boarding school, the opposite happened. Hilton dealt with many unfortunate situations while attending Provo Canyon School in Utah. As a teen at boarding school, she endured horrific abuse: mentally, physically, and emotionally. From waking up to people screaming in her face, to the staff bullying her and make her feel terrible about herself, to even strangling the students there. The abuse that took place affected Hilton and made her hate life. Hilton was so ashamed of what happened during her time at boarding school, she did not want to express to anyone what went on.
Since then, Hilton has modeled, published a book, appeared in a movie, created an album, made multiple perfumes, has a fashion line and had several hit television shows. Hilton also is a DJ and held a residency at a nightclub in Ibiza for four years.
Hilton hasn’t had the best of luck with finding love. She has had a few engagements fail in the past. Her life changed all of a sudden when she met her now husband, Carter Reum. It was love at first sign for the two. Although the newlywed couple has known each other for over 15 years, they were always just friends. Over Thanksgiving of 2019, the two reconnected and hit it off. The two got engaged on a private island back in February as a birthday celebration for Hilton. Reum flew all of her closest friends and family down so they could be a part of the special moment. “I love Paris, I think she is a strong women who is an inspiration for a lot of people. She showed the world that people can go through struggles but come out stronger. It is nice to see her happy and that she found the one, after having a lot of failed attempts at marriage.”- Senior Lexi Donohue expressed her thoughts on Hiltons and Reums wedding.
Their lavish wedding took place at Hiltons late grandfather’s old estate on November 11th. Hilton always dreamed of getting married in her grandfather’s former home. This property brings back so many happy memories from her childhood.
Hilton walked down the aisle in a custom made, Oscar de la Renta gown to the song “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” Her one of a kind dress took months to design and come up with. Because of the dress being so elegant and the selling point of the look, she kept her glam simple. As if one dress wasn’t enough, Hilton had four dresses that she showcased to her guest. After the ceremony, Hilton changed into another Oscar de la Renta gown, except this one was a short bubble skirt with a sweetheart neckline.
Some of the A-list celebrities that attended the wedding of the year were: Kim Kardashian, Demi Lovato, Nicole Richie, Meghan Trainor, Bebe Rexha, Emma Roberts, Kyle and Kim Richards, Kim Petras, Kimora Lee Simmons, Paula Abdul, Robin Antin, Ashley Benson, Derek Blasberg, Evan Ross, the creative director of Alice + Olivia, Jordan Barrett, and Rachel Zoe.
As if one day wasn’t enough, the couple continued the celebration by having a party the following two days. The next day, the newlyweds closed down Santa Monica Pier and invited friends and family to a carnival themed after party. At the carnival, there were Paris Hilton themed games, rides, carnival snacks, and Diplo made a special appearance. Hilton dressed up in a pink frock with matching pink veil. The final celebration was held on Saturday, with the newlyweds and their guests returning back to the Hilton estate for a blowout bash.
This three day extravaganza will be remembered by everyone for years to come!
