As the winter season approaches, boys basketball is set in action! With a returning new head coach, Kevin Grimes, and nine seniors, here is a sneak peek from a handful of the seniors on what this season will look like.

James Adamo, Andre Macaranus, and Ali Monisuragalu, three returning varsity players, will lead the team in their 2021-2022 season. The boys are excited to start this season and hopefully pull through with a successful record as they step on the Hills court for their last time. Senior Jared Mintz says “I am excited about this season. I know that the team has been placed in the right hands with Coach Grimes. Grimes motivates us and we all are pretty comfortable with him.”

Hills kick off their season on December 17th here at Hills against Clifton. If you are interested in seeing this game, or a different one, check out their schedule, at https://waynehills.rschoolteams.com/page/2930!

Coming off of a strong season, ending with a record of 11-4. Their only losses were to Pascack Valley (2), Wayne Valley (1), and Glen Rock (1). Due to COVID-19 in the 2020-2021 season, there was no County or State tournament. With a brand new season with a new team and eight returning varsity players, the team is excited to make a run in both tournaments.

The team is very confident about the future success of the season holds. Senior Nate Kressaty says “We have a lot of good seniors and are excited to win a bunch of games.”

So make sure you come and watch a game this season and see what this boys team is really about!
