This past weekend on September 24-26, in Citi Field, New York City, the Governor’s Ball had its 10th anniversary. The Governor’s Ball is a multi-day music festival including an array of music genres from a variety of artists. In addition to the wide range of trendy music, the festival features food trucks, games, and activities.

This year, Gov Ball had a variety of artists: on Friday, September 24, Billie Eilish starred as the headline; on Saturday, September 25, A$AP Rocky was the headliner, and on Sunday September 26, Post Malone closed as the headliner. Each of these three artists closed the show with an unforgettable performance.

Junior, Skylar Levitt, had the chance to attend all three days at the festival. “The roaring crowds, the excitement from every artist, the striking performances. The festival was electric,” Levitt said in awe.

Due to COVID-19, Gov Ball was cancelled in 2020. But fans still came with exhilaration to the 2021 festival. “It was amazing to finally be back at the festival. I have gone every year, but this was one to remember; everyone was just so excited to finally be back.”

According to Levitt, some people thought that this year’s lineup was the worst. But after attending all three nights Levitt disagrees with that statement. “I did not know some of the artists that performed but now I do, and I will definitely remember their names.”

Artists, like Young Thug, even performed alongside with singers which added an element of surprise to the night. Levitt’s favorite performance was Young Thug performing with Post Malone. “It was electric. Right then and there, the whole festival was alive.”

Without a doubt, after taking a year off in 2020, but also having 2021 be the festival’s 10th anniversary, this was an unforgettable year of Gov Ball.
