This week, on September 30, the Academy Museum in Los Angeles, California is opening up to the public.  After numerous setbacks and delays (Covid 19) the Museum finally decided to open up.  Before opening to the public, the museum held a party with a bunch of A-list celebrities from actors to singers, many made their appearance on the red carpet.

The Academy Museum was organized by the same trustees that arrange the Oscars each year. The architectural look of the building is a sphere-shaped, glass and steel building in the middle of West Hollywood, while it does give off an old Hollywood vibe. The museum is dedicated to the Art and Science of movies, through its exhibits it will tell stories of the process of making movies, celebrating them, and a little bit of criticizing them.

The Academy Museum is a 7-floor building with about 300,000 feet of space for exhibitions in which It includes a 33,000 square foot theatre for performances, movie premiers, private viewings, and public programming. The museum won’t only talk about fan favorites and number one movies but it will showcase films that didn’t do so well and they will criticize them.

“I am so excited about the new museum! Next time I visit California I am definitely going to stop by, it seems so cool how they take some of our favorite movies and give more depth to them by including the origin and the process it took to create the movies!” says Riya Kachroo, a junior at Wayne Hills.

I couldn’t think of a better place for it other than Hollywood where movies were first introduced for America. It will definitely be a huge success and will attract a lot of tourists and commoners living near for its grand opening.
