PARCC Results Due This Week
December 17, 2015
PARCC results are releasing this week! Many parents, teachers, and students have been anticipating this moment for almost a year now. The controversial PARCC (Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers) exam was distributed statewide to students in grades 3-11. This computerized test stressed out many students, especially students in high school. The test was difficult for those who took it while those who opted out enjoyed not having class for the day. According to the state’s website, the results were not pretty and many students failed to meet their grade level expectations.
“No one took it seriously,” said Junior, Taylor Domico, “I heard rumors about random words being put down for the essay portion of the exam.”
The PARCC exam went under a lot of opposition because of its confusing format and rigorous material. Many students, teachers, and parents also felt that the school was spending an unnecessary amount money updating technology for the exam. However, many state officials think the test is beneficial and assists the state in evaluating the academic level of students in New Jersey. The future of this highly disputed exam is still undetermined, but from the looks of it, the PARCC is here to stay.
