The LEO Club Makes Bracelets for Vietnam War Veterans
April 10, 2021
During the pandemic, the LEO Club got creative on how to express its gratitude towards the Vietnam War veterans for their service. Because of the current situation, in-person community service activities were impossible, and the club’s officers had to think of new ways to give back to the community.
One of the projects they decided to take on was creating paracord bracelets for Vietnam War veterans. Bracelet-making kits were put in the school, which were picked up by club members, who learned how to make the bracelets via Google Meet. Members who didn’t even know how to make bracelets were able to learn by looking at tutorials posted on Google Classroom.
Working as a group, the LEO club was able to deliver impressive amounts of bracelets to others.
Eunho Jung, a communication officer in the club recalls the project with happiness.
“I had really fun making the bracelets!” Jung smiles. “Even though we weren’t together in person to make them, it still felt very good to give back to others.”
The LEO club is not finished with its efforts to help out the community.
“We definitely will be doing more activities like this in the future!” says Jung. “We are currently coming up with new ideas that we can do together on a Google Meet. We encourage non-LEO members to join our club!”
The LEO club has announced that they are currently doing a poster project for Girls Rising, which represents statistics and facts about Girls Rising and education for girls worldwide in a visually appealing way.
Props to our amazing LEO club that continues to contribute to the community despite the strange situation!
