After a four year hiatus, Wayne Hills is returning to Metlife Stadium to gain another title as state champs. WHHS is playing again Old Tappan at 1:00pm Saturday December 5th. The tickets even look like real NFL football tickets. The tickets for this event are valid for any game happening during the entire day. Spend a great day filled with football, food, friends, family and fun! Our football team is hoping for a huge crowd to cheer them on during this exciting game that ends the season. Bring your friends and family because this is going to be an unforgettable afternoon, especially for the WHHS community. But why is there so much hype over this game? Why is this one of the most important games in WHHS history? What makes this game so interesting? Well here are some reasons why this is one of the most important and interesting games to see this year.
1.This is could be the first state finals victory for WHFB’s new coach. Head coach Wayne Demikoff who took over for the legendary Coach Chris Olsen after 2012 and this is Demikoff’s third year as Head coach for Wayne Hills and his first time making it to the state finals as head coach.
- Wayne Hills and Old Tappan have a huge rivalry in football. The rivalry is almost like Hills vs Valley except this one is about state finals, Hills has fought Old Tappan multiple times in the playoffs and state finals.
- The game is held at Metlife stadium. Many of the players dream of playing on the Giants/Jets field because it’s where the pros play. And Metlife is huge with a capacity of over 82,566 seats, it makes wanted to play in the pros a dream come true.
- Battle of the running backs. Wayne Hills RB’s Luca grave will have to go against Old Tappans Zach DeNike as both are the team’s best players and will both have the biggest competition between each other.
- Offense against the Defense. Wayne Hills is known for having a good defense with players such as LB Joe Kenny and DE Leyshawn Askew but Old Tappan is said to have a good offense with players such as WR Jordan Fuller and TE Jedh Downey so we shall see which team is better.
- Old Tappan could have their first defeat of the season. The Old Tappan golden knights have been undefeated from the start and they may lose against Wayne Hills, which hills has only lost 2 games but have improved greatly being able to defeat harder teams.
- It’s been 27 years since Hills lost to Old Tappan. Wayne Hills has almost never lost to Old Tappan in the state finals but can Coach Demikoff and the patriots keep that up?
- Wayne hills is back or is it? Wayne Hills is known for being one of the toughest teams in NJ but the past few season have changed the way Hills roll but this season could change everything. So cheer on your school football team.
- both teams have some of the best players in the state. Everyone will be excited to see the best of the best compete, Old Tappan will have their best players like Zach DeNike, Jordan Fuller, and Jedh Downey. Hills will have their best players like Joey Kenny, Leyshawn Askew, and Luca Grave.
- Both teams are bringing everything to win this game. Both teams will be using as many plays, tactics, and players as they can to win this game. So if you’re thinking about going you’re going to see an entire arsenal of football force.
