Kobe Bryant Announces Retirement
December 7, 2015
After 18 years of history and scoring Kobe Bryant has finally decided to hang it up as a basketball player. He was a 19-time all star and won five championships as a Los Angeles Laker. He averaged 25.3 points per game in his career and played with and against some of the greatest players of all time. He announced the retirement news in a poem to basketball that was posted on USA Today. He stated that “this season is all I have left to give”.
Wayne Hills student George Valdez was saddened by the news after watching Kobe Bryant for almost four years. “It’s just sad man…he will be missed. He was the greatest scorer of all time and now he’s leaving on such short notice.”
He was indeed the greatest scorer ever. He scored the second highest ever points in the leagues history scoring 81 points in one game. He was also a great teammate being with another all-time great Shaquille O’ Neal and helped him win championships as well. He also contributed to team USA for a number of Olympics and played in an Italian league for a brief time. He will remembered as one of the top ten to play the game and one of the greatest scorers of all-time.
