The Girls Swim Team dive into their new season! The girls are off to a great start with a 100-70 victory over Indian Hills.
The girls are all thrilled about the start of the season including senior, Sam Kauffman.“I’m really excited to see how the team is going to perform,” Kauffman said enthusiastically. “Our girls have been working so hard in these past two weeks and I couldn’t be any prouder.”
Having won 5 out of the last 6 Passaic County Championships, the girls have dedicated a great deal of time and effort to the sport in order to defend their county title. Coach Michael Shale is very confident that the girls will do great things this season.
“The team should contend for division and county titles,” Shale stated. Despite losing some skilled swimmers such as Samantha Zarro and Victoria Mayer, the team has gained a great new asset, sophomore, Nicole Shubaderov. Nicole is a transfer student here at Wayne Hills who was a powerhouse for Clifton high school.
“The team was all really excited about Nicole’s arrival,” said junior Michelle Lee. “We all think she is going to be a great addition to our swim team family.”
Next week, the team swims against crosstown rival Wayne Valley.
