The Band Takes Superior

By Alyssa Robbins

The WHHS marching band season is officially over. After their final competition at Bloomfield high School, the band was so happy to get a rating of Superior. Superior is the highest rating you can get at the festival competition they went to. In their division, they came in first place and out of all of the bands, they came in second place.

Every year the marching band, goes to the Bloomfield Competition to end their season. It is a great way to end it because it is only a festival, so it usually consists of smaller bands. The only competition for the band is the Paramus marching band. For the past four years, Paramus as taken first overall, but that does not stop our marching band from trying our hardest. Sophomore, Ally Rasa, in the sideline percussion says, “The last marching band competition was so fun. It felt so good to perform in front of all of those people who actually cared. I loved when the awards were handed our because we all knew what place we were going to get.” Everyone in band performed their best and gave it their all. Congratulations marching band on another great season!

Just a friendly reminder, Area Band auditions for Northern New Jersey are next Saturday December 12, 2015 and the show is January 17, 2016. Good luck to everyone trying out!
