Winter Track is Back!
November 30, 2015
The indoor/winter track team had a dominant turnout last season with an overall solid team in all departments from long jump to the 400-meter dash. Unlike in other sports, a “star” isn’t going to guarantee a win in a meet. This year’s team is a mix of some who may be stars and other solid runners who will consistently place second or third and occasionally pull out with a first. Having consistency like this will result in wins for the team. “We are looking to improve on last year’s season, even with losing Brendan (Ungemach); we still have the talent and motivation to be a team that other schools are scared to run against, “ said Junior Noah Choe. The team will be looking to improve on last year’s numbers, which may prove difficult losing Ungemach who was the Passaic County Runner of the Year. However, WHHS may have some up-and-coming talent in the freshman class, who could be even more dominant than Ungemach. Everyone should be looking forward to another strong season from the WHHS indoor track team.
