Apple News After iPhone XR Release and Upcoming Samsung S10 Event
February 8, 2019
In the last year, Apple unveiled the newer and cheaper iPhone XR in mid-October along with the more expensive models such as the iPhone SX Max. Currently, Apple claims that the iPhone XR is their best selling phone, which can be clearly understood because of its cheaper price and larger screen. It starts off at $749 for 64GB, $800 for 128GB and $899 for 256GB. However, Apple stocks have declined slightly after hitting a smaller peak during the holidays. Theoretically, the recent lawsuits against Apple’s iPhone X screen specs could have decreased their sale of the newer models, thus causing a slight decline in stock sales.
Meanwhile, Samsung will be revealing their newest member to the Samsung smartphone family, the S10. With the success of the most recent model S9, the future is looking bright for the Samsung smartphone product line according to speculation. The first event revealing the specifications for the S10 will take place in San Francisco, California at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium at 11 A.M. PT on February 20th. Rumors about the phone’s design include a no vessel screen (all screen) with a small camera and sensor at the top corner. Rumors also suggest that there will be three available models for purchase: the standard S10, a large S10, and a lite S10.
“Samsung has, supposedly, been sinking all of their R&D into this phone so I am expecting this phone to showcase Samsung’s efforts to keep or pass up other flagships. The leaks show they’re coming out with 1TB storage chips, and these things are getting closer to what would be a full-blown desktop,” said Youssef Kwaik, a knowledgeable Samsung smartphone user and junior at WHHS.
