The Saints v. Eagles Overview
January 23, 2019
The defending Super Bowl champs, Philadelphia Eagles, will soon come face to face with one of the best teams in the NFL this season for a spot in the Divisional round. The Eagles come into the playoffs with hope having the chance of winning another ring. The Saints’ offense might appear as a bigger challenge for Eagles as the Eagles only won by a point due to a blocked field goal against the Bears. Barely surviving against the Bears, the Eagles look to take down one of the biggest opponents they ever faced in the league.
With Carson Wentz gone for the playoffs, it looks like that Nick Foles will be starting once more in the playoffs for the second time. The Eagles hope to see a win this Sunday night. However, this will be a home game for the Saints which gives them an advantage. Not only is that a problem, but Drew Brees, the quarterback of the Saints, has been dominant at home which gives them a boost. Unlike last year, the Eagles did not do as good as they did before, but they still hope for the best.
“The odds are stacked against the Eagles in this one. The Saints are a very, very good team. They have an elite quarterback, one of the best head coaches in the league, and a competitive defense. Plus home field advantage to boot,” Brandon Lee Gowton said, a writer for the Bleeding Green Nation.
The Eagles appear to be the underdog once more as they look forward to catching a win against the Saints. Some Saints players taunt the Eagles due to the last outcome that happened between them as the Saints beat them by a mile. But this time, Jason Peters says that the outcome will be different.
“They ran up the score. We wanted them again, we got them again. This time, hey, we coming. It’s definitely not going to be the same outcome.”
Malcolm Wong had something to say about the game that will soon come. “The Eagles are going to get destroyed by the Saints. There is no way that they’ll win. They won due to an unlucky miss field goal against the Bears.”
The team is getting a lot of criticism and also some appreciation. Maybe the Eagles will overcome the Saints and make their way winning a ring, but they must face either the Cowboys or Rams.
