SDA 2018 : A Night at the Library
November 28, 2018
The Student Dance Association season is upon us. The White and Maroon team dance sign-ups have been released and the dances are already filling up. The White team has struggled the past few years but hopes that their leader, senior, Sophia Kelly, will lead them to a victorious season. The Maroon team is led by senior, Olivia Alboher, who hopes to win again like years past. Sophia and Olivia will work effortlessly to put on a spectacular show to conclude their senior year.
Both teams are eager to get started and begin the SDA season. White dances include Tap with The Wizard of Oz, Jazz with IT, Pom with The Jungle Book and Aerobics with The Hunger Games. The Maroon dances include Tap with Pinocchio, Jazz with Arabian Nights, Pom with Pinkalicious and Aerobics with Harry Potter.
¨I am very excited about the upcoming season and cannot wait to start practices. It is a lot of time and effort but practice makes perfect and that’s what I´m looking for,” said Senior Captain of White Tap, Morgan Ritesma. Her senior co-captain Natalie Dominguez is also very excited for practices to begin and can´t wait to start teaching the dance.
This year the senior class is very excited to partake in the Senior Dance, a well-known tradition, here at Wayne Hills. The seniors will have a chance to show their dance moves off during the Romeo and Juliet themed choreography. The dance will be made up by Senior Vice President Maddie Luster and Senior President Alexa Difiore. The senior dance is already getting filled up and seniors must make sure to sign up as soon as possible.
Senior Assitant Historian, Francesca Zampella said “The senior dance is a well-known event in the SDA community and we can’t wait to begin practices with everyone. We get a chance to get everyone together and have a good time.”
“It is something many of us seniors have been waiting for,” said senior Amanda Rossi.
The theme of the show is “A Night At The Library, SDA Brings Books To Life.” Show dates are February 21, 22 and 23. Tickets will be sold the week prior on Community Pass.
