Did A Potential Star Emerge This Monday?

Patrick Mahomes, QB of The Kansas Chiefs, helped defeat the Broncos this Monday, October 1st, at Mile High Stadium.

This is the first time this season that Mahomes was down in points. He was put on the spot with all of America watching. Mahomes had his worst start this season. Usually he would score over 14 points in the 1st half  but Monday he would score only one Touchdown before the end of the 1st half.

Mahomes completed an amazing drive in the fourth quarter. This drive ended with him throwing a short pass to his tight end which led to a Touchdown. Patrick Mahomes would only get better.

The defense would stop the Broncos from scoring; Mahomes was able to get the ball back with almost four minutes remaining.

Mahomes kept receiving pressure from the defensive line but that did not stop him from making big plays. Mahomes was 30 yards away from the first down.  He didn’t fall under pressure. He would complete the first down and drive it down the field by the end zone. This drive ended with a run play that resulted in a Touchdown. The Game ended with the Chiefs winning 27-23.

When asked about Mahomes’s abilities, junior Aaron Hook stated “I like how he moves out the pocket. He scores a lot and has zero interceptions. Future QB of the league.”

Mahomes is a great mobile QB with the ability to throw the ball very far. He has accuracy and a great arm. He shows that he can adjust when feeling pressured by defensive tackles.

Junior Nick Lucarello says “MVP candidate, if the season ended this week,” when asked what he thought of Mahomes.

As of now Mahomes has 14 touchdowns, 0 interceptions, and 1,200 yards in four games. Mahomes has broken the record for most touchdowns by scoring 13 touchdowns in 3 games.  The previous record was held by Peyton Manning with 12 touchdowns.
