76ers GM Bryan Colangelo Being Investigated For Burner Twitter Account

By Jacob Waxman, Staff Writer

In his second year as General Manager for the Philadelphia 76ers, Bryan Colangelo is in the news for the opposite of what the organization had hoped for.

On Wednesday, a report came out stating that Colangelo was controlling multiple burner twitter accounts, aside from his personal account. The report was that Colangelo was using these accounts to trash talk his own players, including Joel Embiid, Markelle Fultz, Nerlens Noel, and Jahlil Okafor, picking on them for that they’re weak points are.

Colangelo denied these reports, immediately calling Joel Embiid to tell him his side of the story. Embiid took to twitter to express his emotions after the report came out saying “DAMN.” Last season Kevin Durant was exposed for using a fake burner account on twitter as well, to talk to fans. After the Colangelo report was released twitter exploded once again.

The Sixers have been in a long process of getting back to the days when Allen Iverson was on the team, leading them to the NBA Finals. Colangelo was supposed to be their way of getting back to the finals. This season the Sixers lost in the Eastern Conference Semi Finals to the Celtics, but had a much better season than ecpected. They finished the regular season 52-30 and got the third seed in the Eastern Conference.

The Sixers have started investigating Colangelo and the report on their own and are trying to get to the bottom of the story as soon as possible, due to the upcoming NBA Draft. If the report is true the Sixers may fire Colangelo resulting in an open spot for a GM.
