Student of the Month
April 18, 2018
Each month, two new students are nominated for the Wayne Hills tradition, student of the month. They must be nominated by teachers and adults in the building in order to be featured on the bulletin board. In order to receive a nomination, teachers must see that the student demonstrates a positive attitude, goes out of their way to exhibit a kind task, and is a well round good student. This months students are Seniors Kelly O’Neill and Josh Kashmann. They are generally featured in the display case outside of the media center.
The bulletin board offers their reason for nomination, advice for students here at WHHS, what they like most about being a student here, along with three things we may not know about them.
Continuously offering her assistance to others, O’neill has been nominated for being an exemplary human being. Most recently, she took it upon herself to spearhead the fundraising for students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School following the tragic events that occurred there.
“It was really unexpected, and a nice surprise. I’m very appreciative to be given this recognition, and it is truly humbling” she says.
Josh Kashmann, an invaluable member of Wayne Hills, was nominated for his constant willingness to help and for being a very kind, respectful young man. Josh is a student leader for our athletic fan base, he helps in a variety of ways in our auditorium. He also deals with Wayne Hills TV, SDA, as well as with any other technical issues.
“Working with technology comes easy for me so I love being able to use that skill to help out” Kashmann says.
The Wayne Hills community is always looking for students that stand out amongst others and make the school a better environment. Everyone that is nominated definitely feels honored to be up there!
