The Addams Family Turnout

After all their hard work and dedication, the cast of The Addams Family finally got to perform the play last month, on March 15, 16, and 17th in front of a large cheerful audience all three nights and it all paid off!

Unfortunately, due to all the snow days we had this year, especially during the time of the show, there were some missed practices. “The inclement weather, particularly at the end, really did affect us. We actually had a rehearsal at the YMCA and had to extend the last Saturday before the show just to get back some of the time. However, I think the hard work really did pay off,” explained Mr. Fleissner, who was the music director of the show.

Senior Katelyn Apa tells us, ” I joined only two weeks before the show but the cast was so welcoming and helped me learn all of the dances… wish I would’ve joined earlier throughout high school”.

Exactly how many people showed up to view the show was not known but we do know all three nights were packed. “I’m not certain what the actual number of tickets were sold is (somewhere in the neighborhood of 1,000?), but the crowds were very receptive and really seemed to enjoy themselves, which is really what I look for,” said Mr. Fleissner.

Overall, “I was incredibly proud of this cast. We had 22 seniors on cast and crew, many of whom were with us for all four years, and they will certainly be missed. But we also had a number of freshmen come in who can really sing and who were incredibly dedicated to the show. We worked our tails off and it showed,” said Mr. Fleissner.
