Wayne Hills Lip Dub Coming Soon
February 26, 2018
Mr. Hoogstrate’s TV Production III and IV classes and Ms. Piro’s Marketing II classes are currently working to put together a “Lip Dub.” The “Lip Dub” is a national trend that involves students lip-syncing and dancing to songs as they walk around their respective schools.
Hoogstrate and his TV Production classes are taking inspiration from Mount Olive High School’s Lip Dub. With the help of all the students in the school, the TV classes hope to film a successful lip dub that will go viral, similar to how Mount Olive’s did.
Students expressed mixed feelings towards the lip dub, with some more enthusiastic than others; Senior Nick Palumbo, in particular, wasn’t too excited about the whole idea. He stated, “I think it could be cool, but due to the limited song choices, I don’t think students will be too excited about it.” Other students many showed a similar lack of excitement for the lib dub until they were told that they could miss class for it.
The two classes aim to film the Lip Dub sometime in May.
Veronica Gail, a Senior in Hoogstrate’s TV IV class, created a Google Form in which students can fill out what songs they would like to be in the dub, as well as what group they would like to stand with as it’s being filmed. The form can be found on your respective English teacher’s Google Classroom page, or here.
