January’s Student of the Month: Riley Garcia

By Stefanie Batavia

Each month Wayne Hills honors certain students who go out of their way to do good deeds. This month, senior Riley Garcia was awarded Student of the Month next to Richie Sabbagh for calming down a student who was nervous about Instant Decision Day and making sure they were prepared for their interview. This small act of kindness shows the behavior Riley exhibits every day. Her favorite parts about Wayne Hills are “the positive vibes and endless support” that runs through the halls. Riley Garcia is in fact a huge contribution to the loving atmosphere at Wayne Hills.

What makes Garcia stand out from the other kind students is the way she takes advantage of all of the opportunities Wayne Hills has to offer. She has been a member of SDA for three years and was captain of White Aero her sophomore year. For sophomore and junior year, Garcia was the president of the class of 2018. She is also a member of STARS and SADD. Not only is she an active student in school, but she’s also always very active in her community. For the past three years Garcia was a captain for her Relay for Life team.

Although Wayne Hills will forever be in her heart, in the future, Garcia wants to go into business. She plans on attending Rutgers University to pursue this major. Riley Garcia sure has made her mark on Wayne Hills and she will always be known as one of the kindest students you will ever meet.
