January Student of the Month: Richie Sabbagh
January 16, 2018
Wayne Hills High School is a school of great diversity, with every student that walks through the doors bringing something unique to the table. It is full of wildly different students that will all eventually leave the school with bright futures ahead of them. Each month, two of these students, a boy and a girl, are chosen as the Students of the Month.
Last month’s male SOM was Senior Richie Sabbagh, a kind, intelligent, energetic, well-liked, and well-respected student. Sabbagh is proud to say he was recommended for SOM by simply making good decisions. He could’ve easily turned the other way and do the wrong thing on several occasions, but he decided to do the right thing no matter the risk or judgment. When asked what advice he would you give other Hills students, Sabbagh replied, “Don’t be afraid to be strong and stand up for what is right. Also, stand up for yourself and others and make the right choices.”
With graduation fast approaching, the Patriot Press asked Sabbagh to reflect on his time at Wayne Hills. As a two-time varsity athlete, Sabbagh explained the large impact the school’s amazing athletic programs have had on him. Indeed, one of his fondest memories from Hills is finally winning the County Champions on the Wayne Knights hockey team this past Monday, January 15. Although moving on from high school is going to be tough, Sabbagh is excited about his future and hopes to achieve his goals of attending college and medical school. He hopes to eventually find a career in the medical field.
