LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball Sign Overseas
December 20, 2017
Two of the most profound and well documented teenage athletes in the U.S. are bringing their talents to Lithuania.
Over a year ago, LaVar Ball, the father of three basketball prodigies, became famous from making extremely bizarre statements. For example, he said he can beat Michael Jordan in a 1v1 game, easily, even though LaVar has never played in an NBA game. The father of three is very high on all of his kids’ skills and potential, and publicly announces all of his opinions and feelings.
The oldest brother, Lonzo Ball, is the starting PG on the Los Angeles Lakers.
LiAngelo was recently arrested in China while the team was there for a basketball game. The 19 year old got out of what could have been a severe punishment by the Chinese government, but he luckily got out with help from the U.S. Further on, dad Lavar Ball pulled him out of UCLA, for a ridiculous suspension, costing Gelo playing time.
LaMelo, the 16 year old former high school prodigy, was pulled out from Chino Hills High School, and was planned to be home schooled by LaVar Ball.
Now, Gelo and Melo are signing overseas with a professional Lithuanian ball club, Prienu Vytautas. That was a big move for the teenagers, and they will definitely get playing time. Lithuania is much different from a Los Angeles lifestyle, and NBA star Enes Kanter says “they will hate it there.” LaVar Ball was open for the brothers to play anywhere in the world, as he eventually wants both of them to get to the NBA, and specifically on the Lakers.
It’s been a roller coaster ride for the Ball family over the past year, but inthe end, LaVar Ball thinks it will all turn out for the better, and he will “speak everything into existence.”
