Junior Augie Capria was awarded Student of the Month, along with Nikki Rigoli, for the month of November.

And not surprisingly, the degree to which Hills honors honest and amiable behavior was emphasized through this award.

“I basically informed the teacher when we were starting our test that the answers were on the board,” Capria testifies. “I mean, the class hated me for it but there was no point because we would’ve been caught anyway.”

Along with being honest inside the classroom, Capria’s neighborly and caring attitude towards his friend outside of the classroom also drew special attention to his sweet character. Capria, seeing one of his friends upset, took the time to approach him and try to help with whatever tough situation he was in.

“Yes, I wanted to be a good friend and help him. It wasn’t that big of a deal,” informs Capria humbly. “Because if I won’t be a good friend, then who will?”

Every student here at Hills can just as easily get acknowledged for displaying such noble and kind behavior, as Capria was. Every little step taken towards trying to make the school an accepting and open environment is commendable and worth taking.

Good job, Augie Capria and Nikki Rigoli!
